Vision
To nurture confident, articulate, and persuasive legal professionals by developing the art of oratory, critical thinking, and public speaking rooted in the Indian legal and cultural tradition.
Objectives
- To train students in legal oratory and courtroom advocacy.
- To build confidence in public speaking, debate, and articulation.
- To decode and discuss laws, judgments, and policies through speeches.
- To connect modern advocacy skills with Indic traditions of debate (Shastrarth).
- To prepare students for moot courts, client counseling, ADR, and real-world advocacy.
Activities of the Club
- The Indic Orators Club will hold bi-monthly meetings (twice every month). Each meeting will be structured as follows:
- Opening Speech – A member delivers a 5-minute legal or social address.
- Case Commentary – Short presentation on a landmark judgment or current legal issue.
- Debate / Extempore – Members participate in debates or spontaneous speaking rounds.
- Feedback & Reflection – Faculty and peers provide constructive feedback to improve delivery.
Structure & Roles
- Club President / Moderator (1) – Conducts the session, ensures discipline.
- Timekeeper (1) – Keeps track of speaking time.
- Evaluator (1–2) – Gives structured feedback.
- Legal Maxim Role (1) – Shares a shloka or maxim at start/end.
- Prepared Speakers (2) – Deliver pre-decided orations.
- Impromptu Speakers (3–4) – Speak on surprise topics.
